A Week Away – What I Read

This summer I made an effort to spend less time online and more time enjoying life with the family. My kids have been out of school and with they are young, I’m trying to soak up as much time with them as I can.

We spent the week in Ohio for one last family week before school starts for the boys.

Vacations are always a great time to sneak some reading in. I always have a book (or my Kindle) tucked into my purse so I can sneak in minutes whenever there is time. I try to pull out a book instead of pulling out my phone to check social media or my email. I feel it is a much better use of my time.

So, what did I read this past week on my vacation?

Mrs. Jeffries and the Three Wise Women
by Emily Brightwell

I was half way through this one and inhaled the rest on the car ride to Ohio. I was trying to read it slowly because I have missed this series so.

Fly Me to the Moon
by Diane Vallere

This one has been on my “to read” list for awhile. When I saw Amazon had it on sale for $0.99 I just couldn’t resist! It was such a fun read I finished it in about 24 hours. The second book in the series is out today and I can’t wait to read it. I am subscribed to Diane’s eNewsletter and she had the most entertaining video today where she told us about the new book while putting on her makeup.

Shattered at Sea
by Cheryl Hollon

This was the first book I’ve read in Cheryl’s popular Glass Shop Mystery Series. It was a lot of fun and made me want to learn more about the art of glassblowing. I’m hosting a Facebook Launch Party for this one. Join us!

Full reviews of these will be coming soon, but for now, that is a peek at what I read last week on my vacation.
