My Life Beyond the Cozies

Welcome to my weekly blog post where I take you into my world beyond cozy mysteries. Thanks for coming by to learn a little more about my crazy, but blessed, life.

Last week when I sat down to write my weekly post, I realized I had hardly taken any pictures. This week I tried a little harder to capture the moments as they passed by. Sometimes I get so caught up enjoying the moment, I forget to snap a picture or two. I was a little better about it this week.

Thanksgiving was a blessing to spend time with family. We did things a little differently this year. We went out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in the Amana Colonies, an old-time German settlement. It was a blast. Lots of food served family style. With stuffed bellies we headed back to my parent’s house for more food and to relax a bit. We even tried our hand at family pictures. Here are my boys trying to make funny faces to help their aunt and uncle (and fur babies) smile.

Then it was our turn. Family pictures are never easy with three boys, but we got a few that were not too shabby!

Saturday evening we headed to watch the local hockey team play. One of my twins had his name randomly drawn to be Kid’s Captain for the game. He had the opportunity to sit on the bench and watch the team warm up. We had a good time even though the music was loud!

We also finally got to put up a few Christmas decorations (yay!) I’ve been waiting (not so) patiently for this and it was a lot of fun. I don’t have everything up, it it was a solid start and we were very fortunate for lovely weather so we could get the outdoor decorations up without freezing.

It was a wonderful extended weekend with family and friends. And now I’m ready to get back into the regular routine. I’ve got so much fun cozy mystery goodness coming your way in the next couple of weeks I can’t wait to share it all.

In case you missed it, here is a some of what is going on in the Cozy Experience world:

Have a wonderful week everyone! How do you plan to spend your last week of November? Are your Christmas decorations up yet? I’d love to hear from you in the comments!

Sounds like you had a busy weekend! Your home looks just beautiful with your decorations up. I was also dying to put mine up, so everything went up Saturday. Although we don’t have much outside, just a couple things. Looking forward to the book discussion tomorrow night! 🙂
