Mission Impawsible: Don’t Miss This Cozy!

One of my favorite things about cozy mystery books is that they are comfort food in book form. When you pick up a good one, you fall away into a world of charming settings, good food, and where good triumphs over evil in the end.

If this sounds like something you would enjoy, then Mission Impawsible by Krista Davis is for you.

This is the fourth installment of the Paws and Claws Mystery Series. This series is set in the pet-friendly destination town of Wagtail, Virginia where pets have a place of honor in all that goes on. It follows Sugar Maple Inn owner, Holly Miller, through her adventures of life, love, and catching bad guys.

In this installment, the Sugar Maple Inn is hosting a match making event for pet owners where your pet helps pick your perfect match. But when one of the guests turns up dead, with a letter from Holly’s Grandmother in his pocket, it is up to Holly to help make sure the killer is brought to justice.

One thing I’ve really enjoyed about this series is that Holly does not have one love interest that has taken over the picture. She stands on her own as a protagonist and you root for her to succeed as a person before you are rooting for her to end up with a certain guy. A new potential love interest emerges in this book, but it is done in such a way that you don’t know whether you are rooting for Holly to be interested in him, or if dark shadows from his past will cloud the picture. I love that we are kept guessing until the very end.

As always, author Krista Davis, keeps us on the edge of our seats and transports us to a world of mayhem, mystery, and delight. Be warned though, this is one of those books that once you start, you won’t want to put down, so be prepared to sit back, relax, and enjoy the wonderful world that Wagtail has to offer!
