Can You Start the Series in the Middle?
Honestly this series has so many books, starting from the beginning would not provide much value. Each book stands alone and fans of the Murder, She Wrote television series will feel right at home within any of the series many books pages.

Emily Brightwell’s The Inspector and Mrs. Jeffries Mystery Series, you’ll enjoy this book. Also a sure hit for fans of the Murder, She Wrote television series.
Marie’s Thoughts
I think Jon Land is doing a wonderful job of breathing new light into this series. He manages to capture the essence and nostalgia of Jessica Fletcher, while keeping the mystery fresh, engaging, and entertaining. This story took a lot of twists and turns and went a bit bigger than some Murder, She Wrote novels, but it is a fun book and kept me hooked from beginning to end.

I love murder she wrote on tv & read some books?
I didn’t know there was a book series either. I watch the tv series reruns. Fun!
I love the show but have not read the books.
Can’t thank you enough for the kind words and positive response to my second effort writing with Jessica! It means so much to me to have a reader and reviewer like you believe that I’m doing right by MURDER, SHE WROTE. And I’m especially gratified to see those who love(d) the TV show but aren’t necessarily aware the books even exist enjoying a growing awareness because of coverage like yours–so important since it’s the spirit of the show I’m trying to recapture, even as I bring Jessica into the 21st century. I made sure to enter because this was a series we watched faithfully and world love to see it return at some point. I. have no idea who I would want to play Jessica but it’s just a nice thought. Looking forward to reading this.
I have many, many memories of watching Murder, She Wrote with my mom back in the day. It’s great to know the Jessica lives on in book form!
I’m so happy that Jon is doing such a great job with the series.
I’ve been a fan of Murder, She Wrote since the first episode was shown on television (yes, I’m old!) I’ve read every book written in this series. I’m looking forward to reading the most recent book & getting to know Jon Land’s approach to Mrs. Fletcher and her adventures.
I must be old. I loved the series, “Murder She Wrote” and I have loved the novels, for many reasons. They are like old friends. I can picture myself living in a small town just like her. I have reread all the previous novels at least 3 to 4 times & keep rereading them, like I do with Agatha Christie. However, these last 2 are such a disappointment. To be frank, it changes her internal character to something she would not become. The same with her close friends. It changed the longtime Publishers name & character to someone different. I agree with Ann Owen that the latest two books have been disappointing. The name of the publisher (since he is supposed to be with her from the beginning) should have remained the same. I also don’t like the turn that Jessica’s character has taken — rather snypish in Date for Murder. And her relationship with Mort Metzger doesn’t show the warmth and respect developed through the series over decades. Now Mort seems rather like a jerk, and in Date with Murder their conversations were snarky, like a couple of snotty adolescents. Things just aren’t being carried through that are… Read more »
