Q & A with Author Kellye Garrett

If you could ask your favorite author anything, what would you ask?

Readers got the opportunity to pick author Kellye Garrett’s brain yesterday at the Facebook Release Party for her new book, Hollywood Homicide.

A Cozy Experience was honored to help create the event. One of the things that really impressed me were all the great questions readers asked Kellye throughout the party. They were so fun, I wanted to share some of them with you.

Your protagonist is an actress. Have you acted on TV or movies or on stage?

Never. Not brave enough at all.

Who were some of the authors that attracted you to mysteries? Who do you read if you have time?

Sue Grafton and Janet Evanovich for sure!

If you could have dinner with one of your characters, who would you choose, why, and what’s for dinner?

Oooh. Probably Sienna, who is Day’s fame obsessed best friend. She cooks well but barely eats so she’d have to make something for us and I would have dibs on the leftovers.

What was the first mystery book or movie you ever read or watched?

Hmm. Probably Encyclopedia Brown!

If you had to pick one fictional sleuth to team up with, who would it be?

I think it would be fun to hang out with Stephanie Plum and Lula from Janet Evanovich’s series.

What was the most important lesson you learned on the way to publication?

Have faith. Publishing doesn’t always sense so just write your passion and hope that others will believe in it as much as you do.

Do you have any plans for the series to continue?

I turned it into my publisher last month. It’s called Hollywood Ending!
