Readathons: Connecting Readers, Authors, and Great Books
Have you ever heard of a Readathon? For those of us who love to snuggle in with a good book, it sounds pretty fun – even if we don’t know exactly what it is.
Today we are going to learn more. I had the opportunity to chat with the Readaholic’s Cozy Mystery Book Club Leader, Abby Fabain. Abby is also the organizer of an upcoming cozy mystery readathon later this month. Let’s hear a little more from Abby as to what a readathon is and what we can expect during the festivities.
What is a Readathon?
A Readathon is a period of time where book lovers can get together, and share their love of books with each other. You can speed read, settle down for a nice long read with your furry friend and favorite blanket, or squeeze in a few chapters. It’s not a competition as to who can read the most or the fastest. It is about having fun and spending your time with fellow book lovers.

What is the Readaholic’s Cozy Mystery Readathon?
The A Readaholic’s Cozy Mystery Readathon is a three day long event for lovers of all things cozy mystery. There will be fun games, neat trivia, entertaining challenges, and appearances from spectacular cozy mystery authors! The authors will be talking about there books, but they will also be taking questions! Since it is a readathon, we will also have some cool goal marker posts. This is the perfect time to try to make a dent in your TBR pile. Although, with all of the cozy talk that will be going on, your pile might just get a little bigger!
You don’t have to participate in everything. Just take part of the things that interest you. The main goal is to have fun! So come and join us! There might even be a couple of giveaways.

I am planning on being there. It sounds like a lot of fun
I’ll be joining in as much as I can! I’ve participated in one readathon before. It was a lot of fun, though I didn’t get much reading done (it was during a tropical storm, which would normally be perfect, but not with 2 restless kids and a hubby!)
I’ll be there – hosting the 9 p.m. slot on Friday the 22nd. Looking forward to it!
I love that so many people plan to attend. It should be a great event for sure!
