Title: Remembering the Dead (A Penny Brannigan Mystery)

Author: Elizabeth J. Duncan

Publisher: Crooked Lane Books

About the Book

Amateur sleuth, artist, and spa owner, Penny Brannigan is asked to help plan a dinner party where there will be a private exhibition of the Black Chair, a precious piece of Welsh literary history. When the evening ends with a waiter dead and the Black Chair stolen, Penny knows she can’t sit by and do nothing. Can she get to the bottom of things before she becomes the next victim?

Marie’s Thoughts

This book was my first introduction to Penny’s adventures, but it will not be my last. I in no way felt left behind starting this series in the middle. The book stood alone wonderfully and I felt right at home in Penny’s world. I enjoyed the details of the North Wales countryside and how Penny is a little older than many cozy mystery protagonists. She is filled with humor, warmth, and the aura of someone you’d want to be friends with in real life.
