Title: Slay in Character (4th book in the Cat Latimer Mystery Series)

Author: Lynn Cahoon

Publisher: Kensington Publishing

About the Book

Cat Latimer is an accomplished author who also opens her house to fellow writers for a Writer’s Retreat. A new group of writers have just arrived and it is anything but peaceful. They head to the wild west inspired tourist town of Outlaw, Colorado and a murderer strikes. One of Cat’s writers seems to be at the center of the mystery. Can Cat get to the bottom of things before the killer claims another victim?

Marie’s Thoughts

This was the first book I have read in the series and I found myself fully engaged in Cat as a protagonist and her adventures. She is a well rounded character with lots of depth and personality. I like the idea of a Writer’s Retreat. It has the potential for a lot of secondary characters to come and go throughout the series, which is a lot of fun. The book had me hooked from start to finish – once I started, it was hard to put down.
