Tea and Cozy Mystery Pairings – March 2018

I’ve been sharing a little more with you all recently about love for tea. I’ve always loved a good cuppa (hey, tea is one of those things that just embodies cozy, right?) but last month I upped my tea game to another level and joined the Plum Deluxe Tea of the Month Club. 

I first found Plum Deluxe when they interviewed Laura Childs on her recent book, Plum Tea Crazy. When I went to their website to read the interview with Laura I fell in love with their enthusiasm for tea and embracing all things cozy. It definitely sounded like something I wanted to get in on.

Then my first package came and I was hooked.

I was so hooked I wanted to have friends to share the fun with. Thus, I just have to tell all of you about it. I thought it would be fun to pair my tea selections each month with a cozy mystery I really feel fits the tea. 

The tea I received this month (you receive one larger bag and one smaller one with each Tea of the Month Club order), was Samovar Chai Tea. This is a earthy tea that contains black tea, cinnamon, sage, clove, and more. The flavors are smooth and it is a hearty tea that has had a way of making me feel grounded and calm.

The cozy mystery I’ve chosen to pair with the Samovar Chai Tea is Nightshade for Warning by Bailey Cattrell.

In Nightshade for Warning, Ellianna Allbright is a master at aromatherapy and has a way for having just the right scent for a given time. Behind her shop, Scents & Nonsense, is her garden. An enchanted garden in which she grows herbs and flowers with loving care. The scent and flavor of the Samorvar Chai Tea had a way of taking me to a relaxing outdoor spot, free of stress and worry. It is much of the same feeling I received when reading Nightshade for Warning.
