Top 10 Cozy Mystery Blogs

Cozy mystery blogs are so much fun. There are many different blogs out there that are highlighting our favorite books and authors in the cozy mystery genre.

When I sat down to start my initial thoughts for this post, I was amazed how hard it was to narrow the list to just ten. This list is by no means comprehensive and I have left some very wonderful blogs off the list (If comprehensive is what you’re seeking, stick with me until the end of this post and I have something for you). But my goal is to highlight ten blogs that are not only great reads, but also diverse in their content and approach.

Now, let’s get to the list! (In no particular order).

1.  Cinnamon, Sugar, and a Little Bit of Murder

   I love the concept for this blog. Kim bakes her way through books (which I always love trying to do as well). She posts recipes from your favorite books, along with delicious looking pictures and videos of her creations. I always leave her site hungry and with one or two recipes bookmarked to try in the future.

2. Dru’s Book Musings

   Dru has a super fun “A Day in the Life” feature where the protagonist of a book walks us through a day in their life. I think this is such a fun way to be introduced to a series – straight from the main character’s mouth.

3. Lisa K’s Book Reviews

   Lisa’s site is jammed full of book reviews for when you just can’t decide what you want to read next. I also love that she doesn’t just review the new releases. Lisa recently started re-reading through the Nancy Drew books and is blogging about it. It gave me a warm fuzzy to see the bright yellow hardback book in her picture. Ahh, those happy childhood memories.

4. Bibliophile Reviews

   I give Bibliophile Reviews the award for the prettiest blog design on this list. Bree’s site is clean and well organized. She posts cozy mystery reviews, author profiles, and more. This is a great site to count on for a complete and honest review of each book featured.

5. Cozy Chicks Blog

   The Cozy Chicks blog is created by a team of cozy mystery authors (Lorraine Bartlett, Duffy Brown, Mary Kennedy, Maggie Sefton, and Karen Rose Smith) and provides fresh content daily. It goes beyond the books and the authors give you a sneak peek into their world. It’s a great read if you’re someone who enjoys a behind the scenes look, or getting to know your favorite authors a little more on a personal level.

6. Mystery Lover’s Kitchen

   This is another site created by cozy mystery authors for the readers. If you are a fan of cozies that feature food, this blog is for you. It features authors who have recipes as a part of their books, and they take us into their kitchen and cook up the goodies right along with you. This site features some of my favorite cozy authors and I love hearing from them on a regular basis.

7. Killer Characters

   Ever wonder what your favorite book characters are doing between books? Well look no further than the Killer Characters Blog. This blog is written from the perspective of your favorite characters. The site posts a schedule of authors who write (there is a different one each day of the month, so you get 31 different authors in one place). It is such a fun concept and a way to experience your favorite books in a whole new way.

8. A Cup of Tea and A Cozy Mystery

   If Bibliophile Reviews gets our award for best website design, A Cup of Tea and A Cozy Mystery gets our vote for the most enjoyable photos. Karen takes a picture of every book she reads featured on her kitchen table. You get the feeling that each book that is reviewed is a special, enjoyed, part of the family. (And I’m super jealous of all the adorable teacups and teapots that she has in her kitchen!)

9. Escape with Dollycas Into a Good Book

   All reviews. All the time. Dollycas is a reviewing machine. Lori teams up with authors and bloggers alike to get the latest info on new releases out to the reader. Another cool element of this blog is all the giveaways. In most cases, there is an author giveaway associated with the blog tour. So if you enjoy a good giveaway (and who doesn’t?) than this site is guaranteed to always have some sort of a giveaway going on when you stop by.

10. Cozy Mystery List & Blog

    This is probably the most comprehensive cozy mystery book site I’ve found on the internet. It is more than a blog. If you are looking for list of cozies by topic (holiday, author, etc.), they are all categorized on this site. The author does keep a blog too, that provides reviews, list of upcoming new releases, and more.

As I was preparing this list, I noticed there are TON of great blogs out there, and just because they are not on this list, does not mean they are not super awesome and worthy of your time.
